We have been discussing various ways to improve communication between the school and community, and to facilitate distribution of Top of the Hill. We have decided not to fund the DHS phone app this year, because most of its functions will be available within Sentral (the new school administration system). However, the P&C continues to donate funds to the school to assist in the fortnightly compilation of the newsletter.
We will continue to hold a working bee on the first Sunday of each month to maintain and beautify the school grounds. We have achieved a lot over the past 12 months - including repainting front entrance wall, installing the letters on the wall, removing all the ivy from the building, planting more shrubs and native plants, and adding many piles of compost to the garden beds.
The Duval Canteen is the main fundraiser for the P&C, which in turn provides funds for the teaching staff to purchase educational supplies for our students. The success of the canteen is possible, due not only to the dedicated ladies who run it, but also to the students and parents who volunteer their time to help. Why not give the ladies a call and offer your assistance for an amount of time which suits you.
